Sports Massage
Athletes have unique needs from a massage. Dancers, runners, gymnasts, frequent exercisers, tennis players, and anyone who participates in frequent activity can benefit from sports massage. Sports treatments focus on muscles relevant to performance, and incorporates specifically tailored pre-event, post-event, and maintenance techniques. Range of motion and neuromuscular facilitation are emphasized. This helps enhance performance and endurance, reduce potential injuries, and accelerate recovery time so athletes can be at their best. And don’t think that you need to be Lance Armstrong to benefit from a Sports Massage- if you’re getting 30 minutes or more of gentle to extreme a day, you’re likely to benefit from Sports Massage Therapy.
Pregnancy Massage
Your therapist has been trained to know the exact spots to focus on to nurture expecting mothers, as well as potential reflexology points to avoid. Massage during pregnancy is a vital support to women as their bodies undergo major shifts and changes. Regular massage can reduce emotional and muscular tension, ease cramping and spasms, and increase blood and lymph circulation and decrease swelling. It’s so important to nurture and support your body through the many magical stages of pregnancy, and we’re here to do just that!
Hot Stone Massage
Known for being a deeply relaxing and restorative treatment, hot stone massage incorporates hydro-heated black volcanic stones. These stones help to accelerate muscle relaxation while calming the body’s central nervous system. The therapist will incorporate the stones into the strokes of the massage while alternately leaving them along key points on the spine, hands, and feet to improve energy flow in the body. This is a very luxurious and relaxing treatment, ideal for individuals in need of both pampering and therapeutic relief. Due to the nature of the technique, sessions are always 90 minutes.
Deep Tissue
Deep Tissue Massage focuses on deep layers of muscles in order to release chronic pain and tension patterns while flushing toxins from the body. Deep tissue is focused work that helps to eliminate acute and recurring pain and scar tissue while increasing systemic circulation and mobility. When deep muscles are treated, toxins are released and blood and oxygen begin to flow freely. Deep tissue is both corrective and therapeutic treatment.
Balinese Massage
The Balinese culture has long been renowned for its ability to engage all of the senses to balance physical and spiritual beauty. Like Thai Massage, Balinese massage has been practiced for thousands of years. This style of massage enlists multiple sensations to heal the body, blending Balinese sound therapy (based on the famous Balinese Legong music), deep tissue work, aromatherapy, reflexology, and stimulating stretching. Balinese massage is at once deeply therapeutic and luxuriously pampering.
